Since 1962 when the Jetsons first aired we all have been waiting for that day when cars could fly. In 1985 we got a much more realistic look when Marty and Doc transplanted themselves into an advanced version planet earth in the premiere of ‘Back To The Future’. Filled with hover-boards and flying cars our anticipation levels grew as we patiently waited for this “future” to come. Fast forward to the year 2013 where technology has helped us advance in more ways than one, and although we’re sure there are a few models and prototypes floating around there is still no flying cars for the consumer. The reason for that is pure laziness. As much as we would like flying cars no engineer wants to build a new skyway (see what we did there ?) system. No to mention the car would make such a splash in the pool of life that it would call for a lot of things to be altered. But that’s enough with the technicalities lets get down to the fun stuff. French photographer Renaud Marion couldn’t wait any longer for this futuristic car change to happen so he made it happen himself. The photo series titled “Air Drive” is a collection of 6 ordinary cars from the 60′s and 70′s that have been photoshoped into tireless devices of flight. Which might we add are pretty awesome to look at especially both the Marcedes-Benz W113 SL (above) and the XK140 by Jaguar (below). We are hoping to see more of these but for now we will enjoy the great machine known as the Tesla. To see more from Marion you check out his online collection here.
