The Sony Music Typographic Timeline celebrates 125 years of musical history. The graphic’s and illustrations created by Alex Fowkes cover almost 150 square meters of wall space in Sony’s Derry Street headquarters and is visible when looking upward from the cafeteria. The art work uses CNC cut vinyl as the sole medium, and bleeds inspiration across about
54 columns measuring over 2 meters tall. The graphic illustrations feature nearly 1000 of Sony Music’s signed artists from 1887 to the present day. There are a few reasons why I like this project , the most dominate reasons are because of the detail and color choices .The concept is awesome and well put together but the detail of each excerpt of Sony’s musical history is what makes it stand out as well as the splashes of red used to for the the years to separate each time zone.
